Wolbring, now I’ve very worried about charging in and being unempathetic. So perhaps I could just mention the fact that the article says the basics of empathy are learned from parents. And perhaps add that that’s sort of controversial.
John Allman at Caltech has some wonderful papers on his web site about some of the basics of empathy. He’s particularly focused on von (VAN?) economo cells in the anterior cingulate cortex.
