This week BBC Radio 4 aired a 40 minute documentary on hate crimes against people with disabilities. The show will air again on August 24th. This is an excellent documentary that raises serious questions about how hate crimes are conceptualized and prosecuted. A companion piece is available from the BBC magazine, with interesting analysis by Tom Shakespeare, a leading figure in theory of disability. There are links to the radio show and the magazine article available on the icad blog. Realplayer is required for the audio.
